The Company Provides

Studio training — technique and conditioning, 2x/week (Months 1–3)

Stage performances and productions

Screen films and creative direction

A collective of artists committed to the work

A six-month progression: technique (2x/week) → choreography (2x/week) → filming (2x/week)

Company Members Provide

Tuition: $1,500 per Volume

Tuition for Volume 001 is $1,500. A Volume runs approximately six months from first rehearsal to final film screening. Need-based adjustments available — the work matters more than the number.

Personal dance equipment (pointe shoes, tights, makeup, etc.)

Costuming fees for specific productions

Archive merchandise is purchased separately

Membership in the Company is tuition-based. Archive products, costuming, and personal equipment are not included in tuition.

Volume Structure

The structure holds. The work breathes.

Every Volume follows a three-phase arc — technique, choreography, filming. But what fills that arc is not written before the room assembles. Choreography responds to the bodies present. The camera captures what actually occurs, not a storyboard. The dancers in the room shape the work — and the final film reflects them, not a blueprint handed down in an empty studio. The Volume becomes what it becomes.

Phase I — Studio

Months 1 – 3

Technique and conditioning. Company members meet twice weekly to build foundation, strength, and artistry.

Phase II — Stage

Months 4 – 5

Choreography and rehearsal. Technique transitions into rehearsal twice weekly as the Stage performance and Screen film take shape.

Phase III — Screen

Month 6

Filming and production. Rehearsal transitions into filming twice weekly. The Volume closes with a Stage performance and a finished Screen film.

Selection & Eligibility

The Process

Applications are reviewed by the Artistic Director after submission.

Final casting for each Volume is based on ability and the needs of the production.

If you are not accepted for the current Volume, you are encouraged to apply again for the next one.

Acceptance into one Volume does not guarantee placement in the next — each Volume requires a new application.

Once accepted and a Volume is completed, submit a new application for any future Volume you wish to join.

Eligibility

Applicants must be ages 12 and up.

Some prior performance and/or dance experience is required.

Volumes are mixed-age — teen through adult — depending on the casting needs of each production.

Open classes during technique months (Months 1–3) may be available to the public on a drop-in basis. These are separate from Company membership.

Studio DMC is a selective creative company, not an open-enrollment studio. Every Volume begins with an application.

What's Included

Included with tuition — no extra cost. These exist because the founder is already in the room with a camera. You'd pay hundreds elsewhere. Here, it's part of the Volume.

Headshot Session

One professional headshot session per Volume. Founder's camera, founder's lighting, founder's eye.

Dark, editorial, artistic — not a standard dance portrait. These are images that match the Studio DMC aesthetic. Artists would pay $100–200 for this anywhere else. Included.

Behind-the-Scenes Stills

A digital set of rehearsal photos pulled from film footage — candid moments from the creative process.

The camera is already rolling. These are the frames between the takes — the grit, the focus, the in-between. Delivered digitally at the end of the Volume.

Tuition & Application

Volume 001 tuition is $1,500 for the full six-month arc — technique, choreography, filming, the film link, and the premiere. Membership begins with an application.
