Studio DMC is a cinematic dance collective — not a traditional dance studio. We produce original works called Volumes: six-month creative arcs that combine training, choreography, and filmmaking into a numbered, themed release. Each Volume comes with its own film, archival products, and live premiere. Think of it as a creative house where dance, film, and design intersect.

DMC Dance Co is our sister entity — the original. It stands for Dance with Miss Catrina and handles everything on the training side: private coaching, pointe preparation, technique training, and the Jr. Company for dancers ages 7–11. It's lighter in tone, focused on education and live performance — not film. If you're looking for one-on-one training or a youth program, that's DMC Dance Co.

Exactly. DMC Dance Co = Dance with Miss Catrina. Studio DMC = Discipline. Movement. Cinema. Same founder, same philosophy, different purpose. One builds the dancer. The other builds the work.

Jr. Company dancers (DMC Dance Co, ages 7–11) can bridge into the Studio DMC main Company at age 12 — moving from performance cycles into full Volume productions. It's a handoff, not a hierarchy.

No. We don't compete. We don't do recitals. We don't do costume parades or spring showcases. We make work — films, performances, and artifacts — built to last beyond a single season.

Yes — that’s exactly what Training is. Studio Open and Jr. Open are drop-in classes, not semester enrollments. No locking into a season, no term commitment. Buy a single class or a multi-class pack and come when it works for you. Studio Open runs Tuesdays and Wednesdays (ages 12+, prior training required). Jr. Open runs Saturdays (ages 7–11, all levels welcome including first-timers). See Training →

Absolutely. Training is exactly that — no application, no audition, no commitment. Show up, work, leave. Company membership is a separate application-based track for dancers who want the full Volume experience (training, choreography, film, premiere).

Company membership is application-based and selective. Dancers must be at least 12 years old with prior training. The process includes a written application and a video reel. Apply here →

Dancers ages 7–11 can join the Jr. Company through DMC Dance Co. It's a 3-month performance cycle ending in a live show — no film, no screening. For younger dancers or beginners who want training without the performance commitment, Jr. Open Classes are available on Saturdays.

A Volume is a numbered creative release — the core unit of Studio DMC. Each Volume lasts six months: three months of technique, two months of choreography, one month of filming. It premieres as a live performance combined with a film screening, and includes a limited-edition product drop (apparel, accessories, candles). Volumes are themed, color-driven, and never repeated. The Archive is where Volume products live — limited-run apparel, candles, and one-of-one artifacts released per Volume. Nothing is restocked. When a Volume closes, its products retire. Browse the Archive →

Studio DMC operates out of a private studio space in California. Exact address is shared upon registration or enrollment — it's not a public drop-in facility.
